Terms of Use
Last updated: 25 September 2026
By using tetext (tetext.me) you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
tetext is a free tool for transferring text and files between devices through temporary rooms. It is provided “as is” and “as available”: features and limits may change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued at any time without notice.
Acceptable use
Do not use tetext to:
- transfer anything illegal or anything that infringes other people's rights;
- spread malware, spam or phishing;
- access rooms that are not yours, guess room codes or get around rate limits;
- overload, attack or otherwise disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
Rooms are end-to-end encrypted and the server cannot see their contents, so you alone are responsible for what you send and receive. Open files only from people you trust.
Limits
Rooms are temporary and are deleted after 10 minutes of inactivity. A single file can be up to 20 MB, and one room can relay up to 128 MB of files in total. Rate limits protect the service from abuse.
No warranty
tetext is provided without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost data, interrupted transfers or any other damage arising from the use of the service. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Third-party services
Text recognition via Yandex Images is optional; when you use it, the photo is handled by Yandex under Yandex's own terms. See the privacy policy for details.
Changes
We may update these terms; the current version is always on this page.
